Tutorials : Setting up Aileron Diff

Mike Shellim 3 Jan 2003

For the Aileron Differential control adjustment to work properly, the wing servos must be assigned alternately left/right/left/right (or right/left/right etc.) as you ascend the channel numbers.

Note, the actual channel numbers are not important. The only restriction is the alternate L/R ordering as you ascend the wing servo channels.

Here are three examples for a 6-servo wing showing the channel assignments:

This is OK:

1 L ail
3 R ail
4 L flap
5 R flap
7 L tiplet
9 R tiplet

This is also OK:

1 L ail
3 R flap
4 L flap
5 R tiplet
7 L tiplet
9 R aileron

... but the following is not OK since there are adjacent pairs of L's and R's

1 L flap
3 L ail
5 R ail
6 R flap
7 L tiplet
9 R tiplet
