2006 English Open F3F
Whitesheet Hill - 5/6 August 2006
The English Open was once again held over two days at Whitesheet Hill. Sponsorship and some very generous prizes were donated by Cubitts Models, Jess Nichols and Multiplex.
Unfortunately the racing had to be abandoned on Saturday due to insufficient wind. After a slow start, Sunday eventually saw seven rounds flown. Conditions were quite thermic, and the wind was off slope some of the time, which made for some technical and very interesting racing. However it was frustrating for those who did not get decent air, resulting in lots of uncharacteristic cuts. The wind gods were kind to me, and I just pipped Blobby to first place, with John Phillips in third. The fastest time of 40.6 was set by Joe Cubitt.
