BMFA F3F Nationals
This year's Nats saw a rather smaller than usual entry with just 15 turning up on the day, no doubt due at least in part to the poor forecast. Nevertheless, the weather held off (except for just one period of rain on day one), and we ended up flying a whopping 23 rounds - enough to break the spreadsheet! Nobody could complain of a shortage of flying time...
Proceedings started on the S. bowl of Horcum. Conditions were pretty challenging with the wind speed nudging 22 m/s at one point. The end of the day saw Mark Redsell in the lead, with Peter Gunning in second place and Rich Bago in third. Levisham was home on day two, and served up its usual cocktail of interesting air. Fortunately the large number of rounds and small field helped smooth out any inconsistencies.
Mark Redsell held his nerve to win from Peter Gunning. Rich Bago was a close third and Mark Treble fourth. Mark R also achieved fastest time. Mark R and Richard were both flying Freestylers.
All in all a great comp in challenging conditions. Many thanks to Jon Edison and helpers for a fine weekend of racing. And last but not least, our thanks to T9 Hobbysport for their continued generous sponsorship of the event with some tasty prizes in the form of MKS servos.
