Welsh Open F3F
17 - 19 Sept 2010

Mark Abbotts waits to launch
Eleven rounds, and a new world record!
After the disappointments of recent years due to poor conditions, 2010 was to be the year that it all came together for the Welsh Open, and for the 49 competitors who attended.
The result was a win for John Phillips, with Simon Thornton a very close runner up. Iñaki Elizondo set the fastest time of 29.37 - a new unofficial world record.
My thanks to Kevin, Andrzej and all who helped run the event, to Ian Mason & SlopeRacer for organising the fantastic raffle prizes (the proceeds of £1300 are to be donated to the Southmead Hospital Neonatal Unit). Finally, to Vic Eldridge for arranging another fine banquet.
