2018 BMFA League 1
22 April 2018
All weathers at Levisham
The first league event of 2018 got off to a good start with 17 entrants battling it out at Levisham.
Nine rounds were flown with a single stoppage for rain. Flying conditions were quite testing, with a turbulent breeze mixed in with the odd thermal - in other words, typical Levisham!
Rich Bago took top honours, flying his FS5 with great flair. Steve Haley was close behind with his Pike Precision 2, and Pete Gunning took third spot. Honourable mentions too, for Nigel Witchalls and Brett Larrett who achieved personal bests.
The prize for eye candy went to the Redshift, designed by Jim Hammond in Taiwan, and flown by Greg Dakin, John Phillips and Mark Passingham. This model is refreshingly different, with an unusually high aspect ratio and rather fetching colour scheme. "Team Redshift" took 5th, 6th and 7th places.
